DC comics and Marvel, in my opinion, produces the best hero movies ever. The character that stands out, from all my favourite super heroes is Superman from DC Comics.

Superman, aka Clark Kent, had the strength of a thousand men. He could move 10 times faster than a moving bullet; even move with the speed of light. He never got weak or tired. He could quench a fire burning a whole house with his breath.

Superman was invincible...nothing could harm him...and I mean nothing; except for Kryptanite of course.

Aside his extraordinary physical abilities he was a symbol of hope and justice. He didn't just save people from the perils and violence in the society but he also rescued them from hopelessness and injustice.

Now whilst this character is a fiction it carries Kingdom Principles; particularly with what he represents. Does these principles remind you of who we, as Christians, are meant to be or represent?

CHRISTIANS

The word 'Christian' was coined by people who observed the disciples and noticed that all their words and actions were similar to Jesus' or were Christ-like. They saw how they walked and talked and immediately they could tell who they had been relating with.

The saying that goes..."show me your friend and I would tell you who you are" is actually true. But what's really powerful is...."show me who you relate with regularly or daily and I would show you where you are headed".

So what does it mean to be Christ-like?

The only way to answer this question accurately to observing the life of Jesus Christ while He was on earth. Even before He came to earth.

Before...

He is God and seated enthroned and endowed with Honour and Majesty. He is Wholly and Holy....complete in perfect unity with the God-head and the Holy Spirit. He created the universe and everything in it and He governs it; making Him have a divine nature that's sovereign.

He dwells in a realm beyond the confides on time and space.

But the interesting thing is this...He gave all that up, without a thought, to die for a world that doesn't deserve it. What Manner Of Love Is This?

Jesus is Incredible!

During....

He was exceptional in everything He did. He commanded authority in the way He walked and talked; so much so that everyone that came in contact with Him were amazed and left in a state of awe and wonder.

He had a loving and tender heart towards everyone. This reflected in is actions that He could suspend the natural laws just so people would get what they wanted or needed. He would heal the sick, raise the dead, feed thousands of people. Jesus was a problem solver. He never left a place without have a positive impact in that place.

Jesus was Incredible!

Now....

I would have thought that after all He did He would fold His arms because He has done it all and all we need to do is just to tap into it. But no..not my Jesus! He is continuously interceding for us as our High Priest.

That why His name has being exalted above every other name and by the call of the name of Jesus every knee shall bow in heaven, on earth and underneath the earth and every tongue would confess that He is Lord (Phillippians 2:10).

Jesus is Incredible!

This was God's intention for man before the fall. For man to be exceptional, for him to stand out in everything he did, for him to be incredible. No wander when it was time to create man God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit had to be in agreement. This was done when God said..."Let Us Make Man In Our Image and Likeness...." (Genesis 1:26).

The man, unlike the other creations, was in the God Class. He was exceptional...he was glorious. After he became a living being in Genesis 2:7 he began to display unique and exceptions characters on the surface of the earth.

He was so aware of himself that he didn't need a Cardiologist to tell him about his heart, or a psychologist to teach him about his mind. He didn't need an archeologist or palaeontologist to teach about fossil records. He did't need an anthropologist to teach him about society and culture.

The was no bacteria or virus that could communicate any kind of disease...all creature (big and small) acknowledged the Glory.

He was Incredible!

But what went wrong?

The Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God (Romans 3:23). For someone to fall it means that the person was in a high place. Just like the Superman character.... he stops being Superman when he is exposed to kryptonite so also when a Christian is in sin he loses the glory.

God told him not to eat of or partake of the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Wait a minute! Isn't it good to be able to differentiate between good and evil? Or the popular question people ask..."Why on earth did God put the tree the in the first place?".

Well for the first question...God's knowledge of good and evil is different from that of the world's (tree of good and evil). If you notice the was another tree which was the tree of life. They were allowed to eat from this as the life it gives would also affect their knowledge hence begin to see life like God; as opposed to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

For the second question....I believe God was teaching man the power and value behind choices and obedience. As God's intention was to create man in His image who has the power to choose. So after God gave man the instruction He left him with the choice to obey or disobey; because the value of what someone chooses is determined by options.

Unfortunately man failed! So, because of sin or disobedience man lost his position.

Due to the mandate on man with regards reproduction man only produced the fallen nature. Actually it was God's plan that in his glorious state man would propagate the earth with glorious progenies.

Solution...

In solving this major problem Jesus gave His Life in ransom for humanity. That's why the only way to the glory is in Him.

Jesus says in John 14:6..."I am the way and the truth and the Life no one come to my father except through me".

The only way to Stand Out, to be Exceptional, to be Glorious, to be Incredible in what we do is to abide in Him.

This is the only way we can be Incredible.
